Automotive Grade IHLE Integrated E-Field Shield Inductors Provide Excellent Attenuation of Noise in High Current Filtering Applications

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has expanded its IHLE series of low profile, high current inductors with two new devices IHLE-2020CD-51 and IHLE-2020CD-5A in the 5mm by 5mm by 3.4mm 2020 case size that feature integrated E-field shields for the reduction of EMI. These new commercial and automotive grade devices are optimized for energy storage in DC/DC converters up to 3 MHz and provide excellent attenuation of noise in high current filtering applications up to the SRF of the inductor.
Featuring high-temperature operation to +155°C and coplanarity of their four terminals within ≤ 100 µm, these devices contain the electric and B field associated with EMI in a tin-plated copper integrated shield, providing up to -20 dB of electric field reduction at 1 cm when the integrated shield is connected to ground.
