SG2524 Regulating Pulse-Width Modulator

The SG2524 is a fixed frequency PWM Modulator IC. This IC is specially designed for switching regulators of either polarity, transformer-coupled dc-to-dc converters, transformerless voltage doublers, and polarity-converter applications.

SG2524 is a Regulating Pulse-Width Modulator IC that incorporates all the functions required in the construction of a regulating power supply, inverter, or switching regulator on a single chip. SG2524 includes on-chip regulator, error amplifier, programmable oscillator, pulse-steering flip-flop, two uncommitted pass transistors, a high-gain comparator, and current-limiting and shutdown circuitry.

 

The SG2524 can be used in applications like switching regulators of either polarity, transformer-coupled dc-to-dc converters, transformerless voltage doublers, and polarity-converter applications. They also can be used as the control element for high-power-output applications. How to use SG2524 IC

SG2524 Application Circuit

This IC has a wide operating voltage between 8V to 40V. The regulator operates at a fixed frequency that is programmed by a one-timing resistor, RT, and one timing capacitor, CT. This IC also has an internal 5V voltage regulator that provides power supply to the SG2524 internal regulator control circuitry. The internal reference voltage is divided externally by a resistor ladder network and the output is sensed by a second resistor divider network.
