Renesas Electronics Corporation has introduced new RA6T2 Group MCUs that feature a rich set of peripheral functions and hardware accelerator designed specifically for motor control and deliver an unmatched combination of performance, features, and cost-efficiency for motor control designs in home appliances, smart home, industrial, and building automation, as well as inverter control. It can realize next-generation high-speed, high-response motor algorithms and improve parallel processing performance such as other communication processing.

Based on the 240-MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core, the RA6T2 32-bit MCUs feature built-in amplifiers that can set the gain according to the input voltage range and an adjustable PWM timer that makes it easy to port existing algorithms. Moreover, the embedded hardware accelerator includes both a Trigonometric Function Unit (TFU) and an Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter.

Features

  • 240MHz Arm Cortex-M33 with TrustZone

  • 256KB -512KB Flash memory and 64KB SRAM with ECC

  • 16KB Data Flash to store data as in EEPROM

  • Scalable from 48-pin to 100-pin packages

  • HW accelerators for motor control calculation

  • 12-bit ADC

  • 12-bit DAC

  • Programmable Gain Amp

  • High speed comparator

  • PWM timer

Applications

  • Home appliance (washing machine, induction heating, power tool)

  • Industrial (AC drive, AC servo, robotics)

  • HVAC (heating, air conditioning)
