FQP30N60L N-channel Power MOSFET

The FQP30N60L is an N-channel power MOSFET that features a moderate current carrying capability and a high drain-source breakdown voltage. It also features logic-level switching, meaning the gate can be turned on using lower voltages.

How To Use FQP30N60L

The FQP30N60L is an N-channel power MOSFET that features high breakdown voltage, large current carrying capability, and low on-resistance. It is a logic level MOSFET, meaning that it can turn on fully even with a low gate voltage of 5V.

The most common applications of N-channel power MOSFETs are as low-side switches, as shown in the figure above. The source is connected to the ground through an optional shunt resistor to measure current. The gate has a pull-down resistor to prevent the MOSFET from turning on accidentally if the input is left floating. A series gate resistor is added to prevent current spikes from damaging the gate. To protect against voltage spikes when switching inductive loads, a flyback diode is added antiparallel to the load.
